Material Prep & Production Assistant
POSITION SUMMARY
The Material Prep & Production Assistant is responsible for assisting multiple departments in sign prep, staging, masking, sanding, painting, shipping and other tasks as needed to support day to day operation and efficiencies.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Demonstrates JPS Signs LLC values and shares the organizational commitment to ensuring quality products and steps throughout the manufacturing process.
Responsible for maintaining safety and quality standards, following standard operating procedures, keeping accurate records, maintaining equipment and supplies while striving for 100% on-time, on- quality delivery to customers.
Description:
ï‚· Prep signs for Prime and Paint Department operations including moving, sanding, hanging, and repairing signs and peripheral items as necessary.
ï‚· Mix paint to the formulations as defined in the Matthews Paint System, for use in the Paint and Art Departments.
ï‚· Mask and unmask signs to prepare for Router Department operations.
ï‚· Assist the Art Department in preparation of signs for final paint process.
ï‚· Prepare signs for final shipment including sanding or painting backs of signs, installing hardware, and packaging for shipment in support of shipping personnel.
ï‚· Move received purchases to inventory including paint and prep supplies, raw material HDU and PVC sheets, hardware and other items as needed.
ï‚· Complete QC sheet for each work order as applicable.
ï‚· Perform daily, weekly and monthly maintenance tasks to ensure machine longevity, including lubrication, cleaning and tool replacement as requested.
ï‚· Attention to detail is a must to ensure the quality of products.
ï‚· Required to work independently and efficiently with minimal guidance while also receiving requests for assistance in stride and prioritizing to best meet production/delivery schedules.
ï‚· May have interaction with customers, vendors, and general public and be required to act in a professional and courteous manor at all times.
ï‚· Other tasks and responsibilities as requested by management.
WORK EXPERIENCE
ï‚· High school diploma or equivalent preferred
ï‚· Minimum of 2 years of production experience in a sign shop environment preferred
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
ï‚· Maintain good communication skills, both written and verbal
ï‚· Solid computer skills
ï‚· Solid math skills
ï‚· Able to read basic measuring devices such as tape measures, technical drawings, and diagramed instructions.
ï‚· Able to operate hand tools such as orbital sanders and cordless drills.
ï‚· Valid drivers license with clean driving record.
ï‚· Able to perform physically demanding work: standing for long periods of time, bending, twisting, and lifting up to 55 lbs independently and 75 lbs with assistance. Frequent movements of hands, wrists, and arms. Visual acuity - able to see objects less than a few feet in distance and maintain good eye health.
ï‚· Ability to work occasional weekday and weekend overtime, up to an average of 25%.
Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
