🚨 Safety First: What to Do After a Major Storm with Downed Trees & Power Lines

Post Body:
Last night’s severe storm brought down numerous trees and power lines across the area. Our emergency tree crews are actively out in the community clearing hazardous roads and debris, but your safety comes first!

Here are vital safety rules to follow if you encounter storm damage:

⚡ Never Approach Downed Power Lines
Always assume any fallen line is live and energized. Stay at least 30 to 35 feet away and immediately call your local power utility or 911.

🌳 Beware of Trees Touching Lines
If a fallen tree or broken branch is touching a power line, do NOT touch or attempt to move it. The tree itself can conduct electricity.

🚫 Avoid Suspended Branches ("Hangers")
Broken limbs stuck high up in tree canopies can drop without warning. Keep children and pets away from trees with visible overhead damage.

👷 Leave Complex Emergency Tree Removal to Professionals

Storm-damaged trees are often under intense tension. Cutting them without specialized equipment can cause sudden, dangerous shifting or snapping.

Need emergency tree service or storm cleanup? Contact our expert crews today to safely clear hazardous trees from your property!

LCFC worked with J. Thomas Tree Service to better equip them with first aid and stop the bleed supplies, in return, they gave an unexpected donation to the fire company.
