Estes Valley Fire Protection District The Estes Valley Fire Protection District continues the tradition of superior fire and safety services established more than a century ago in Estes Park.

The Estes Park Volunteer Fire Department was established in 1907. It remained an all-volunteer organization until 2010, when the first paid fire chief was hired. The establishment of a fire district gained voter approval in 2009 and the Estes Valley Fire Protection District (EVFPD) became the governing body for fire and rescue services on January 1, 2010. Volunteer firefighters and paid district staff proudly continue the tradition of providing superior fire and safety services that was established more than a century ago. The district encompasses 66 square miles including the town of Estes Park, CO. Although Rocky Mountain National Park is outside the district's boundaries, an agreement is in place for EVFPD to provide fire suppression services for structural fires and motor vehicle accident assistance in the park on the east side of the continental divide.
