A matched pair of 1775 French Rigobert Bonne globes

The “before” images reveal the pair in heavily damaged condition. One completely disassembled with a broken meridian ring, detached wooden parts, and missing base; the other showing deep cracks, flaking surface, and a badly damaged red meridian ring.

The “after” photos show the fully conserved pair, now proudly displayed on matching black wooden stands with their rich red meridian rings beautifully restored. The rings and ribs were edged with Le Franc Charbonnel extra fine red bole gilder's clay base mixed with hot rabbit skin glue and then varnished over, which is historically correct.

This remarkable transformation was expertly carried out by Universal Fine Art Conservation, bringing these rare 18th-century French globes (one celestial and one terrestrial) back to their original glory.

Invisible Restoration: The Interior of Clam-Gallas Palace 🖌️💎
When this magnificent large-format oil painting by P. Andover suffered a fall from the wall, it sustained three significant tears. Today, we are proud to share the "after" results: the structural repairs are now completely undetectable from the front, returning this masterpiece to its full glory.

About the Piece:
This work is a beautifully detailed hand-painted replica of the original Carl Goebel painting, "Interior of Clam-Gallas Palace," which famously sold at Sotheby’s. The composition captures the historical opulence of the galleries at the Lower Belvedere in Vienna as they appeared in the late 19th century.

Andover’s work masterfully depicts the room’s grand vaulted ceilings, gilded moldings, luxurious red velvet drapes, and a massive multi-tiered crystal chandelier. The Palais Clam-Gallas, a neoclassical landmark built in 1835, served as a royal summer residence for decades and now houses the Qatari Embassy in Vienna.
We are honored to have played a part in preserving this intricate look into architectural history.

He was named Time magazine’s "Man of the Year" in 1946 for his work as Secretary of State.

Known as one of the most powerful figures in 20th-century American politics, Byrnes holds a unique place in history—having served in all three branches of the federal government as a U.S. Senator, Supreme Court Justice, and Secretary of State. Here in South Carolina, we remember him as our Governor and a tireless advocate for the state’s growth. His footprint is everywhere at Winthrop University. From the iconic Byrnes Auditorium (which he secured the funding to build in 1939) to the Byrnes Foundation, which has provided life-changing scholarships to over 1,000 students, his legacy continues to shape campus life today. Bringing the depth and dignity back to this portrait was a truly rewarding project. Please read the captioned photos. This stunning oil portrait of Maude Busch Byrnes was of a woman whose legacy is woven into the very fabric of Winthrop University. As the wife of James F. Byrnes and a former First Lady of South Carolina, Maude was a champion for education. Her portrait is a familiar sight to students and visitors at Winthrop's Byrnes Auditorium, serving as a tribute to her work with the Byrnes Foundation and her dedication to supporting students across the state. It was a privilege to restore the color and life to this piece of campus history after it was splattered with paint. 👇

Early 1800's Oil On Canvas Forest Landscape by Paul Rennie underwent full conservation treatment because the canvas was torn, flaking and dry rotted. It was cleaned, the paint stabilized, heat-lined with Beva 371 gel, reinforced with new canvas, and then remounted onto the stretcher frame. Now, it's preserved for generations to come.

A Monumental 7 ft hand-carved Trio of eagles has been meticulously restored to its original Glory. The artwork sustained significant damage, including a broken wing and several missing feathers expert conservation efforts replaced the missing elements with new, hand carved parts and the finish was seamlessly matched to the existing color ensuring it's majestic presence endures.
