12/24/2022
It is that time of the year again!! The 2022 tax season is right around the corner.
First, I want to express gratitude to all my clients, THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH FOR TRUSTING ME TO SERVE YOU!!
Information is powerful so if you are informed you are formed!!
Please be aware of the following points.
1. The sooner you file the better you are. Why? God forbid, let us say someone have all your information and file pretending to be you and later to find out that your tax return has already been filed. In this case you must fix this identity theft by mail, which is very time consuming. Although, the IRS will not release some refund before February you are better off locking your information in the IRS system by e-filing early before the scammer.
2. Please be noted, the IRS know the trick of decreasing and increasing of your income in order to boost your refund. DO NOT PLAY WITH THIS GAME! Let Us Help You!
3. When you pay for your tax preparation fee, in most cases you either pay upfront or through bank product (from your refund). I have audited many clients’ tax return and found out this is a way for some seemingly professionals stealing extra money from your refund. So, you are entitled to know the breakdown of the fees. Besides, you can cross check your refund from transcript and acknowledgment letter.
4. Employers, please note the IRS redesigned form 1099-MISC to form 1099-NEC.
5. DO NOT ENTERTAIN THE IDEA OF IRS just audit the lower-level income tax return. If the IRS have tool and technology to catch higher level income tax return so do they have tools and technology to catch lower-level income tax return.
6. If you are married lived in the same house, please do not file two head of household filing status. The IRS knows this trick too.
7. Standard deduction has been increased for the tax season 2022. Therefore, assuming relatively your income stays the same, this will affect you positively.
We Are Now Scheduling Appointments For New Clients!!
Happy Holidays,
Dr. Victoria Hamilton
