TODAY, ABOUT 10 BROAD STREET BUSINESSES WILL GO WITHOUT WATER FOR HOURS.

Augusta Utilities says businesses on the north side of Broad between 9th and 11th streets will be without water from roughly 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. while crews make repairs.

For businesses already navigating construction and limited access, it’s one more difficult day downtown.

If you’re heading downtown today, check with your destination before you go — and keep supporting the businesses along Broad Street.

SOUTH AUGUSTA IS GETTING A NEW BURLINGTON.

The off-price retailer plans to open later this year at Colony Plaza, 2121 Windsor Spring Road.

This will be Burlington’s second Augusta location, joining the store at Augusta Exchange. The new location will feature the company’s updated design with wider aisles, improved organization and new signage.

Burlington is also hiring for the new store.

THE RIVERWALK PLAYGROUND DESTROYED BY HURRICANE HELENE REOPENS THIS FRIDAY.

The playground at Augusta’s Riverwalk was badly damaged during Hurricane Helene and has remained closed ever since.

Now, nearly two years later, a new playground is ready.

Augusta will officially reopen it at 10 a.m. Friday, September 4, on the lower level near the Riverwalk Marina.

For families who remember what Helene took from this part of Augusta, this is one more piece coming back.
