KFC and Coke are getting ready to make it official. 🥤🍗

KFC is switching its U.S. beverage partner from Pepsi to Coca-Cola. The rollout starts in January, with Coke expected at all U.S. locations by spring 2027.

LTA member Nick New recently stopped by The Jerk House and left with a new favorite.

He tried the jerk pork with extra jerk sauce, cabbage, rice and beans topped with a little oxtail gravy, plus a spicy beef patty. His verdict? It was all spicy—but mmm. The pork was generous and tender, and the rice and beans were good enough to eat as a meal on their own.

Nick also said the staff was friendly and the restaurant was clean as they worked through the little hiccups that come with opening a new spot. He’s already planning a return visit to try more of the menu.

Gunfire interrupted Laney’s homecoming Saturday, turning a night of celebration into a scene of fear and confusion.

At least three people were shot in the school’s tailgate area and taken to local hospitals. Their conditions have not been released. The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is investigating and has not announced an arrest or identified a suspect.

The line outside Crumbl was hard to miss when the Augusta location opened. People came to see what was in the pink box that week, and some flavors became favorites before they disappeared from the menu.

Now Crumbl is closing its Augusta location. What started as a new stop for cookies became part of the local routine for plenty of people—and soon, it’ll be a memory. Which Crumbl flavor do you wish you could have one more time?

SOUTH AUGUSTA COULD SOON LOOK A LOT DIFFERENT.

A $141 million residential development is being proposed off Benson Road near Bobby Jones Expressway.

Plans call for 469 new homes across nearly 142 acres.

The project has cleared the Planning Commission but still needs approval from Augusta commissioners, who are scheduled to consider it October 20.

More homes could mean more growth for South Augusta, but also more traffic on surrounding roads.

SOME PEOPLE GO TO THE GYM. OTHERS FIND THEIR PEOPLE.
That seems to be the difference at The Fitness Gallery in Evans.
It’s a boutique indoor cycling studio where the music is loud, the energy is high and everyone gets to ride at their own level.
You don’t have to be in perfect shape. You don’t have to keep up with the person beside you.
You just have to show up.
And somewhere between the first song and the last push, a workout starts feeling a little less like something you have to do and more like something you actually look forward to.
