I love it; but its more than just a

Tasty treat.. its an economic indicator.

In the US in the 21 century we don’t worry too much about the price of food

But for most of history

Oil, or fat, was expensive to the point

That normal people didn’t deep fry

The technology of the press

And the green revolution making seed oils cheaper

Changed that

But many countries in my life time

Still didn’t have availability of cheap fat and oil

My family loves Korean fried chicken

But that wasn’t a thing until the 1970’s

In 1960 the per capita GDP of Korea was equal to that of Nigeria

Only once the manufacturing sector grew

Could the average Korean enjoy fried chicken

Understanding those things helps you identify what markets

How often have we come close to feeling like we’ve failed in life?

And, how many times have we gotten back up, gone ahead with the unknown?

I’d say too many times.

Let’s admit it before we are able to get to where we are in life, there have been many stumbles...

Taking leaps of faith into what is ahead.

I remember as a 7-year-old on July 4, 1976, when we heard about the courageous strength and the audacity of Israeli paratroopers flying thousand of miles in antebi to save terror rescue hostages. It was then that I decided to become a paratrooper.

Often when we face the unknown in our lives we say, “Wow, this is really a difficult task. This is really impossible”

When we work in small companies, and sometimes the very expansion of the company, the very lifeline, is based on our ability to execute what seems impossible becomes very much so impossible.

What the Israeli Paratroopers have done, for me, is a fantastic example of the force of will to get something done.
