While Q4 is the same length as every other quarter, it has a funny way of disappearing faster than expected…

It’s been a month since our team attended the 2026 The Global Leadership Network Summit! 🗻

While we heard a lot of ideas over those two days, these 5 are still showing up in our conversations:

1. Pay attention to the patterns. Recognize what needs to be disrupted, what needs to be created anew, and what is worth reinforcing. The patterns we tolerate ultimately shape our organizations and ourselves as leaders. (Craig Groeschel)

2. Make room for different voices because diversity at the table is essential for the next generation and fresh perspectives. (Ryan Leak)

3. Recognize the moments that matter, which vary for every team member. Not all times carry the same weight, and part of leadership is noticing those moments, meeting them, and nurturing them. (Jim Collins)

4. Challenging what you have decided is impossible. Sometimes our assumptions about what “can’t” be done are what hold us back from what can be. (Andy Stanley)

5. Reframing what progress looks like. When things feel like they’re not moving forward, it is actually an opportunity to regroup, rejuvenate, and prepare for what comes next. (Alison Levine)

Protecting your team doesn’t mean you’re empowering them…

In a recent Inc. Magazine Leadership Forum article, Brianna Sylver reflects on the “dark days” of Sylver Consulting and how disguising a failure to delegate as “selfless leadership” led to burnout.

Trying to protect her team from every challenge unintentionally took away opportunities from them to grow.

As Sylver Consulting evolved, collaboration and personal responsibility became two of our core company values.

Meet Ava BooydeGraaff, our newest Market Research Analyst and Research Recruiter! 🥳

Ava has experience in design research, focusing on translating insights into impactful, user-centered designs. Creating solutions that foster positive change fuels her passion as a researcher and designer. She earned her BFA in Industrial Design from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign along with a double minor in Psychology and Art History.

She also brings a unique perspective from her work as a stage manager for Illini Student Musicals, adding organizational and logistical skills to her toolkit that transfer well to her current role. Additionally, she has skills in design thinking, model making, prototyping, and user interviews, making her a great addition to our Sylver Consulting team!

Outside of work, Ava enjoys reading, doing yoga, and caring for her houseplant collection!
