The doubling of life expectancy in the US counts as one of the great achievements in human history, but it has come with such speed that social institutions, economic policies and social norms developed for lives that were half as long are no longer up for the task. Over the last several years, researchers at the Stanford Center on Longevity have been thinking through a New Map of Life that supports a longer-lived society that is healthier, more productive and more equitable.
