You grab a pint of strawberries at the store. They look perfect. You get home. You open the container. The bottoms are covered in white fuzz.

AI translation can work exactly the same way.

The output looks clean. It reads smoothly. It might even impress you. But if you don't speak the target language and most of the people approving translations don't, you have no way of knowing what's accurate and what's quietly wrong underneath.
AI is part of how professional translation works now, and when used well, it delivers real results at scale.

The organizations getting the best outcomes aren't the ones using it the most. They're the ones who understand it best. They know what questions to ask. They know which projects need a rigorous human-in-the-loop process and which ones don't.

AI translation: where it works, where it fails, and how to get it right is free. It covers use cases across legal, healthcare, research, manufacturing, HR, cultural institutions, and media—plus a practical decision framework for your next project.

By the time language shows up as a problem in your workplace, it's usually been a problem for a while.

A safety incident where training was English-only. A harassment complaint where the policy was never truly understood. High turnover in one department that nobody connected back to communication gaps.

Language is almost always part of that story.

More than 67 million people in the US speak a language other than English at home—and many of them are part of your workforce. The question isn't whether language access matters. It's whether your HR systems are actually built for the people inside them.

We put together a guide for HR professionals on what language access really looks like in practice — from employee handbook translation to eLearning localization, interpretation services, and the hidden costs of "free" workarounds.

"My name is jailed. Eye studies the Arctic choose. High study safari Jews."

That's what Dragon NaturallySpeaking produced when our CEO, Dr. Jill Kushner Bishop, tried to dictate her dissertation on Sephardic Jews back in grad school.

Speech recognition has come a long way since then, but only because of the humans behind the data. Multilingual audio annotation is what makes AI actually understand how people speak across accents, dialects, code-switching, and languages.

What goes into training a speech model that works for global users?

An Italian hotel marketed their beautifully appointed camere—Italian for rooms—as "beautiful cameras."

Guests arrived, checked in, and spent the entire stay with a low-level feeling that they were being watched.

The rooms were lovely! The vibe was unsettling! Nobody could explain exactly why they felt vaguely surveilled the whole trip!

Camera means room in Italian. It does not mean a recording device placed inside that room. These are very different things with very different legal implications.

The hotel meant to make guests feel welcome. What they communicated was something closer to a reality TV situation nobody signed up for.

Your hospitality brand should make guests feel at home, not like a subject in a documentary. Multilingual Connections makes sure the warmth of your welcome
translates exactly as intended, in every language. 🏨

Is translation the last thing on your research checklist?
It probably shouldn't be.

When language is treated as a final step, you risk collecting data that looks comparable across markets but is actually measuring different things. Words like "privacy," "trust," or even "household" carry different meanings across cultures, and a grammatically correct translation won't catch that.

Here's what multilingual research really requires: https://multilingualconnections.com/blog/language-culture-research-translation-shouldnt-be-afterthought/

A brand ran a cheerful "FREE GIFT WITH EVERY PURCHASE" promotion in Germany.

What a lovely idea. What a generous campaign.

Except in German, Gift means poison.

They were, technically, offering free poison with every purchase. Every single customer who read that promotion was informed they would be receiving complimentary toxins.

Sales were not great.

The marketing team was not having a good week.

Here's the thing — the intent was completely pure. The ex*****on was chemically hazardous. And that's exactly why language expertise isn't optional when you're crossing
borders.

Multilingual Connections makes sure your promotions say "gift" when you mean gift, and never, under any circumstances, poison. Because your customers deserve better than a free side of dread. 🧪

The smoother it sounds, the more careful you need to be. 👀
AI translation today sounds perfect. ✨

AI Translation might be missing critical details, adding things that weren't in the original, or changing meanings entirely. 😬

Old machine translation was clunky, but at least you KNEW you needed a human to double-check it. Modern AI often sounds so polished you won't even notice the problems. That's the real danger.

Jill joins DynataGlobal on this episode of The Deep Dive. She talks about how, when accuracy and nuance actually matter, you need human judgment in the mix. No exceptions.
