Just saw a post where a streamer was bragging about applying for 1,000 jobs.

What an absurd waste of time!

I choose to be self employed for a number of reasons and I'm well acquainted with the difficulties associated. However, if I did want a job, here's what I'd do.

Given about a week of time, I would apply for 5 jobs I want. How? I'd research job postings that would help me get closer to where I want to move in my career. After identifying my favorite 5, I would:
*Customize my resume to each position & company
*Apply Mon-Thu if possible
*Email the HR manager as well as the manger/director I believe I'd be working for
*Show up in person around 10am or 2pm if they have a local office to tell them that I've applied online
*Bring 2-3 prints of my resume with a cover letter, contained in a folder in a computer bag/briefcase
*Ask if I could briefly meet with someone involved in the hiring process, management, or the department of the position I applied for
*If no one were available to meet, I'd leave my resume, explain I already applied online, and ask for the name, number, and email if any relevant parties. I'd ask if said relevant party/ies could call me at their convenience to confirm they got my resume
*I'd follow up via phone 2-3 days later if I hadn't heard from them to ensure I had submitted my application correctly and ask what timeline their candidate selection process should take
*I'd ask for a response whether they choose to proceed with me or not.

I would guess this would have around the same time involvement as randomly applying for 1000 jobs. I would very much expect that the quality of connections and the potential to land a good job would be much higher.

Work smarter and harder. Get more done, get more in return.

I focus on the long game. I pursue strategy, not tricks; substance rather than impressions; sustainability over speed. I work to deeply know myself and the wisdom of the ancients. Skills and action build on this foundation.

My current outward expression of success is low but my informed confidence and understanding of the principles of success is high.

I'm here to build an empire. To influence massive cultural shifts. To participate in movements that deeply align with my conscience.

Easy come, easy go.

Rewriting paradigms requires patience.

I'm preparing to move. This past weekend a friend hauled my 1977 Jayco camper 150 miles to Lansing. Yesterday I spent the day cleaning it, beginning with this sun shade. What an adorable unit!

I'm trusting that things are unfolding exactly as they should - including my career. Good things show up in my life and I seem to get exactly what I need. The key is caring for myself (physical & mental health), nurturing healthy relationships, and doing what I want to do. I'm a driven person so this often includes work.

This is part 2 of why the last 2 days have been amazing. (Part 1 on my personal page.) 😎

I'm feeling it again—that electric pressure of responsibility.
During the last 19 months since closing Avalon Massage Collective, I have:
Driven 14,000 miles across the US
Repatterned unhealthy attachment
Completed my life coaching certification
Played 10+ harp gigs
Spent 2 weeks touring Ireland
Reignited my passion for sailing
Attended 12 festivals

But also, I've battled:
Relationship upheaval
Mental health struggles
Losing my voice for 2 weeks to a respiratory illness
Caring for a loved one after a bad accident

Through the fatigue and brain fog, I kept trying to create a business strategy that works for ME.
Today, with the clarity and pressure of big adult decisions, it clicked. (Shout out to Claude, my AI partner in crime.)

I'm expanding my work in a new direction.

A WELL-SPENT DECADE
Massage therapy taught me about wellness, customer service, and business ownership. It brought positive change and incredible self-knowledge. But I'm finally shifting into the vision I've held for myself since before massage school.
