“The questions you ask are more important than anything you could ever say.”

Do you find yourself doing a “feature and benefit” dump instead of asking your prospects questions? Remember: you shouldn't be doing all of the talking when you have sales calls. The questions you asks helps you to gain perspective and learn the needs of your potential clients which may make all the difference when closing a sale.

If you find yourself giving your potential clients lectures about what you can offer, try playing a game of 20 questions to get in the habit of asking and not telling.

Yesterday in the Sales Salvation Group Coaching Call, we focused on having a healthy skepticism in your sales process. Prospects shouldn’t be taken at face value. You need to dig deeper, find the reality behind their questions/comments.

When a prospect says they will review the contract and get back to you, don’t just accept that and move on, affirm and redirect… “Thanks, I look forward to hearing back from you. When you say you will review the contract, what does that process look like? Are there other people involved? How much time does that typically take? How do you want me to respond if you aren’t able to get back to me in that time frame?”
