9/11/2001. Where were you when the news broke?

We remember where we were. We weren’t in New York, seeing the smoke fill the sky. We weren’t worried about our family or friends that worked in the Twin Towers or the Pentagon. We weren’t terrified for our loved ones who chose careers that required them to run toward a disaster instead of away from it, but we were forever changed by it.

We remember how the country came together during this tragedy, and we will forever remember the innocent lives that were lost that day, the heroes who fought to save them, and the heroes who never made it out.

We will always remember.
