First the first time in 3 years I’ve lost a client… and I’m not referring to an amicable decision to part ways client and business type of way. I’m referring to the sudden passing of one of my beloved clients.

Floyd Bartlett was a 2-time recipient of the Purple Heart for his brave service and sacrifice in Vietnam. He was an amazing loving man who always put his family needs first. Over the last 2-1/2 years I have serviced the Bartlett family. They welcomed me into their home and their hearts. But most importantly, Floyd made sure I had eaten every-time I came to clean, would bring back a souvenir every-time they took a trip, checked on me countless times while I was in their home, and always said love ya when I was about to leave. Being part of the service industry is more than just a client to business owner relationship, clients overtime can become like family. Those are the client type of relationships I adore and cherish the most. I say this with the heaviest of hearts, Floyd… I will never forget you being so thoughtful and caring, treating me like family, and most importantly startling me while I’m in the zone cleaning and laughing about it.

You will forever be loved, honored and missed so very much. I am so grateful to have known you ❤️

For any DIY’ers out there, tiling will test your patience. This is my second attempt at tiling a backsplash and I’ll say between my husband and I, we did a pretty dang good job.

No cuss words were shared and no arguments were caused over this project. Which is a win in our book 😂 there were a few cut around outlets that really made us question our decision to even take on this project alongside using a newer product to the market. I decided to go the route of using a double sided adhesive called “Mussel-bound”. Which in hind sight, it’s way less messy than using mortar to set your tiles… but not as forgiving if you set a tile wrong. It’s all a learning curve just as any project is.

But we successfully finished after 3 weeks of prep and installation between busy weekends and long work weeks. DIY can be challenging to say the least, but we’re happy to have learned a few things along the way!

Kitchen reset from last month. It slipped my mind to post them, and then they just got lost in my camera roll 🙃 but this was a 8-hour doozy, but loved the amount of cabinet space to work with!

PSA: This is NOT a job I am on, I am currently helping a friend move. But I wanted to post here to shed some light on the situation.

The friend has been in contact with the landlord all morning about moving in around 11 and signing the lease after the “cleaning lady” was done yes I’m using air quotes due to the photos in this post. Fast forward to 9:30 the lady showed and left by 10:30am. In my professional opinion NO move out clean takes an hour, especially after a little remodeling. We walk through and see all of the problems or unfinished jobs the “ handyman” didn’t finish. But the second I opened these kitchen cabinets I knew the “cleaning lady” didn’t even clean. We noticed she mopped the floors but didn’t even vacuum first.

I was BAFFLED to say the least, so naturally I scrubbed these cabinets till they came as clean a possible. Being a cleaning business owner this really grinds my gears.. knowing that there are cleaning people out there that leave behind messes like this. Better believe I will be in contact with the landlord of this property letting him know who he has hired to “CLEAN” his rental properties.

Spent a few days turning this green guest bath into a pink girls bath. Replaced the piece of wall trim that the dog ate and offered to take out the vanity as they are getting a new one!
