Terminator Tuesday but on a Friday 🙂

Which one would you keep? Rats, Mice, cockroaches, bed bugs, or tons of big spiders?

Exterminator Tuesday already!
German yellow jackets this week. They just started showing up.

* They look like honey bees but are brighter yellow and not as hairy
* People call them “ground bees” because a lot of times they build nests in abandoned rodent burrows, but they’ll also nest inside walls, attics, sheds, and crawl spaces.
*A single overwintered queen begins building a new nest every spring and raises the first workers by herself.
* By late summer, a single nest can contain thousands of workers and get very aggressive with there nest.
* They are an invasive species in North America. Originally from Europe, they’ve spread across much of the United States.
*Basically are jerks with wings!
*If you see a lot going into an area, DONT seal the hole. They will find another way out and its usually into your home.

Almost missed Exterminator Tuesday! This week is the millipede, we have been seeing a lot this last few weeks!
Instead of attacking, they curl into a tight spiral when they’re scared. Their survival strategy is basically, “If I can’t see you, maybe you can’t see me.”
They don’t bite, sting, or spread diseases to people.
Millipedes are not insects—they’re relatives of centipedes and belong to a group called myriapods.
After long periods of heavy rain, thousands of millipedes may wander onto sidewalks, driveways, and into homes looking for drier places.
Despite the name, no millipede has 1,000 legs. Most millipedes have between 30 and 400 legs.
Imagine buying shoes for a millipede??

So, I missed a couple exterminator Tuesdays but its back! Been getting lots of calls for earwigs with all the rain lately.
-Earwigs do not crawl into your ears on purpose. Despite the creepy name, earwigs are not looking to move into your ear canal.
-Earwigs have pinchers, but they are not dangerous.
The pinchers on the back of an earwig are called forceps. They use them for defense, mating, and grabbing prey, but they are not venomous.
-They can damage garden plants.
They may chew on flowers, vegetables, fruits, and leaves, especially when populations get high.
-Exterior pest control is usually the best approach.
Since earwigs usually live outside and wander in, treating the exterior foundation, mulch areas, cracks, and entry points is often more effective than only spraying indoors.

Exterminator Tuesday! We have the german cockroach! Its one of the most common cockroach found in our area. They reproduce fast and hide very well. Mainly nocturnal and will eat almost anything…crumbs, grease, garbage, even cardboard. They grow to be about 1/4 long and can fit into cracks a little wider then the width of a credit card.
