It's STILL CHEAPER for a lockout in Bellingham than it is from someone else up there. A customer of mine was charged $384 dollars.... for a lockout. I wouldn't have charged even half that, and I'm 55 minutes and 68 miles away. ONE WAY. I charge enough to make it profitable for me, and fair for you.

Don't get shafted. Drive Safe.

MORE "Behind the curtain" information about the towing industry. Not all of your additional "ROADSIDE SERVICE" charges are actually what you think they are.

Let's say you have a flat tire, lock yourself out, tire is low on air, or maybe you forgot to fill your tank the night before and now your sitting "dead in the water". You have options. Insurance is not always the best option. Half the time they turn you away and leave you to your own hunting for a service provider.

The worst part... Quite often ( actually, most always) they charge you a premium to send out a company that would otherwise be cheaper for you to call them yourself.

My advice. Take a breath. Collect your thoughts, and start looking at your options. Proximity to your vehicle, availability to your time, and price.

If you can, send your service invoice to your insurance company and see if they will reimburse you for your unfortunate situation.

Criminals will always find a way. This is one of the many reasons I dislike "newer cars".
