We love seeing our projects take shape! The site seemed simple, design a home for a mountain meadow looking down the valley. However juggling a flood plane with a tight height limit while capturing the view took some imagination. Another custom design for some great clients.

Exciting to see this house on an extremely difficult site come together! Each floor steps up the hillside to tie into the mountain for a total of 6 floors. The site is extremely narrow forcing the main floor to be above the garage. Mid-level floors on the uphill side tie into the rock outcroppings surrounding the home.

The design was unique in many ways. The massive open spaces both in the great room and the garage required unique solutions due to the nature of log structures. At the time, the ’smart house’ system was cutting-edge technology that provided full on-site and remote control of the lighting, the radiant heat system, window coverings, the snow-melt system, all audio-visual equipment and video surveillance throughout the house. Working with local craftsmen and various specialists and trades brought in to address these specific challenges, we were able to create a truly one-of-a-kind home.

On the boards...
We're wrapping up construction drawings for a new home for AZCO real estate llc. Some mountain properties can seem challenging, but we like to embrace the opportunities that are created by the natural topography. The ideal building site on this property is currently home to a large rock outcropping. Instead of removing the rock, the house is designed to float above it, creating an opportunity for it's residents to include the outcropping as part of their outdoor living space.
