There is a growing concern for localized flooding from Monday into Monday night as the region observes 1-2" or more of rain. The greatest area of concern is across CT and western RI, where models are indicating the potential to be the bullseye. Given that the ground is already saturated and still thawing from the cold winter, this amount of rain could lead to significant issues.

Governor McKee has declared a state of emergency due to the impending winter storm and the following statewide travel restrictions are now in effect:

• 5:00 PM: Commercial vehicle travel is prohibited on all roads statewide
• 7:00 PM: All motor vehicle travel is prohibited on all roads statewide

These restrictions will remain in place until further notice.

Stay off the roads and allow crews to do their work. In an emergency, call 911.

All commercial vehicles are banned from Rhode Island roads as of 5:00 p.m. today. 🚫 🚛

All vehicles except emergency vehicles are banned as of 7:00 p.m. 🚫 🚗

Both the commercial and vehicle travel bans are in effect until further notice.

These restrictions have been coordinated with our neighboring states.

Please stay safe, stay off the roads.
