👁️ Iris Scanner in a Multimodal Handheld Device for Law Enforcement - An Innovation from IriTech’s Partner

Border control and police departments are moving toward mobile, touchless, multimodal biometric tools. Officers need a device that is fast, secure, field-ready identity and light to carry.

But dirty or damaged fingerprints are common in the field. So agencies now use iris scanning as a touchless backup.
This creates two hard problems:
1️⃣ The image must stay clear enough for the matching.
2️⃣ The iris camera must fit inside a thin mobile device.
We are honored to partner with SIC to solve this challenge.

Integrating the IriShield™-USB BO 2121 Slim module, SIC delivered the Companion 50SiT Tomahawk — a rugged handheld device combining iris and fingerprint recognition.

The result is a highly practical tool the size of a mini-tablet.
