***BREAKING INCLEMENT WEATHER UPDATE***

Good Afternoon,

Out of an abundance of caution for the safety of our customers and employees, all waste and recycling services will be suspended today, Monday, March 16, 2026, beginning at 2:00 PM, due to severe inclement weather and an active Tornado Watch advisory.

Any materials not collected prior to 2:00 PM will be serviced tomorrow morning (Tuesday). Please note that Tuesday’s routes may run later than usual as our crews work to complete delayed collections.

To help prepare your property for the storm, please consider the following safety tips:

• Secure or bring in trash and recycling containers to prevent them from blowing away or scattering debris.
• Secure outdoor furniture, decorations, or other loose items that may become airborne in high winds.
• Stay away from windows and patio doors during severe weather.
• If a tornado warning is issued or a tornado approaches, take shelter in an interior room on the lowest floor, such as a bathroom or closet.

Up-to-the-minute updates will be posted here on our page as conditions change.

Good Morning,

While we resumed services yesterday, collections ran multiple hours later than expected due to ongoing conditions from the recent snowstorm.

We will be behind for the remainder of the week. We kindly ask for your continued patience as we work diligently to provide everyone with timely collection.

Reminder: We are taking an abundance of caution in communities to prevent ice-related accidents. If streets feel too dangerous, we've instructed our crews to avoid going into certain areas.

In the event that your trash is not collected because of delays, don't worry—please leave it at the curb, and we will be by to collect it on the following morning.

Thank you again for your understanding!

🌨️ Winter Storm Alert – Potential Delays for Waste & Recycling Services! 🌨️

A major winter storm is heading our way this weekend, bringing heavy snow, sleet, and icy conditions across Northern Virginia. This could impact Monday's collections if roads stay hazardous.

Crew and community safety come first, so services may run late or be postponed if unsafe. If we can't complete the collection for any reason, we'll resume services on your next scheduled day once conditions improve.

Help us help you – quick tips for your bins:

Put trash, recycling, and yard waste out by 6 a.m. on collection day (only when safe!).
Shovel a clear, flat spot around bins (at least 18 inches on all sides) so drivers can reach them easily.
Keep bins off snow piles, behind snowbanks, or in the street (plow hazard).
Secure lids tightly to block snow and wind.
Uncover buried bins ASAP – darker bags show up better in snow!

Household safety reminders to stay warm & protected:

Set the thermostat to 67°F+ and drip faucets lightly to prevent frozen pipes
Open under-sink cabinets for warm air flow
Skip indoor space heaters, grills, or ovens for heat – use flashlights instead of candles if power fails
Charge phones/electronics ahead of outages
Keep pets inside or bundled up – no long outdoor time
Never run cars in garages or use stoves for warmth (carbon monoxide danger!)

We'll share real-time updates on our website and page

Check back for delays, make-up days, or changes.

Stay safe, stay warm, and thanks for your patience!

Good evening,

Due to extreme cold temperatures causing mechanical issues with trucks on your route, today’s collections may run late. Crews could arrive well into the evening, or in some cases, certain items may be left.

Please don’t worry! If anything is missed today, we’ll return first thing tomorrow morning to clean up everything that was left.

Safety is our top priority, and we appreciate your understanding during this cold snap.

Stay warm!
