Amy Thompson Communications Amy’s communications career began in television, with work as a reporter and anchor in Texas and Tennessee before arriving in Mobile in the early 90’s.

A Marketing & PR strategy and solutions partner offering messaging, media and opportunity development to tell your story, move the needle or just make it happen. She spent ten years as an award-winning investigative reporter and morning anchor at WALA Fox Ten. Among other honors, Amy was recognized by the Associated Press as best reporter in Alabama and twice nationally with the prestigious Edward

R. Murrow Award for investigative journalism and a 1994 documentary on Cuba that remains in the Radio & Television News Directors Hall of Fame. Work in business development for a Mobile-based advertising firm followed, managing accounts in tourism, real estate, banking and entertainment as well as political campaign consulting. Amy departed agency work with the arrival of child #3, turning energies instead to family and education advocacy. Other community and board service has included the American Cancer Society of Mobile, The Child Advocacy Center, The Museum of Mobile, The Mobile Carnival Museum, The Fairhope Library and Smart Coast. Amy Thompson Communications thrives on connecting the dots on your behalf with the kind of non-traditional, relationship-driven solutions you won’t find in PR 101. With additional partners providing graphic design, branding, website development and advertising – we've got the versatility to meet most any messaging need. Client-partners include retail and design, restaurant/hospitality, engineering and heavy equipment service, capital campaigns, the financial sector and non-profits. The Texas native graduated from Southern Methodist University in 1989 with a B.A. in Journalism and Political Science.

The Sea Lab is one of Alabama's true treasures - one of fewer than 20 research aquariums like it anywhere in the country.
I got to know the DISL as a reporter years ago when it opened - on a pompano research fishing trip with Dr. Bob Shipp himself.
But my real appreciation came years later on a 3 day field trip with Major. An inspiring hands-on educational experience.... that left 6th graders excited about sea life and willing to do their part to protect it.

One of my earliest stories coming to Mobile in the early 90's was a peek inside the Battle House when it had been shuttered nearly 25 years. Like the Titanic... full of stories, scattered relics and desperate for renovation to the glory days on Royal Street. Clearly - she's back. Thank you RSA! Visit Mobile RSA
