🚨 Please Stay Safe Tonight 🚨

The rain has caused a lot of problems across our area today, and many communities are dealing with serious flash flooding.

Right now, several local responders have been sent to Upshur County to help with ongoing rescue and flood response efforts.

Fairmont Fire Department
Farmington Vol. Fire Department

Monongah Fire Dept.
Valley Volunteer Fire Department

We know many of these responders have left their own families and communities behind to help others in need. We appreciate every one of them and ask that you keep them, along with everyone affected by the flooding, in your thoughts.

If you’re out tonight, please use extra caution.

🌊 Don’t drive through flooded roads.
It only takes a small amount of moving water to sweep a vehicle away, and you never know if the road underneath has been washed out.

If you come across water covering the road, turn around and find another way. No destination is worth risking your life.

Please stay weather aware, check on your neighbors if you can do so safely, and give emergency crews the room they need to do their jobs.

🚨🌧️ WEATHER ALERT FROM FAIRVIEW VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT 🌧️🚨

The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for Marion County and much of North Central West Virginia from 1:00 PM this afternoon through this evening.

⛈️ Storms are expected to develop between 12:00 PM and 8:00 PM, bringing the potential for:
🌧️ Heavy rainfall (2–4 inches possible)
🌊 Flash flooding
💨 Damaging wind gusts
🧊 Large hail
🌪️ Isolated tornadoes

Flooding can happen quickly, especially along creeks, streams, low-lying areas, and roadways with poor drainage.

⚠️ Please be prepared:
🚗 Never drive through flooded roadways. It only takes a small amount of moving water to sweep away a vehicle.
📱 Keep your phone charged and have multiple ways to receive weather alerts.
🏠 Secure outdoor items before storms arrive.
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Check on family members, neighbors, and anyone who may need assistance.

Our volunteers are monitoring conditions and stand ready to respond if needed. We ask everyone to stay weather aware this afternoon and evening and avoid unnecessary travel during periods of heavy rain.

We will be here until 9 come choose who has your favorite mustache.

We are having a mustache growing contest within our department, and you as a community gets to vote on which of our participating firefighters has the best mustache. Voting will be on the Fourth of July.

Kids Drawing Ages 3 and up, FUN IN THE SUN!!

We finally have an idea of what we are doing for our Fourth of July Drawings.

This one is a fun one for your 3 year old, it has a bunch of fun things to play with this summer and Fourth of July.

These Tickets will be $3/ticket, and only available on the Fourth of July.

Kids Drawing (Ages 7-14) - BIKE AND HELMET

MUST BE 18 YEARS OR OLDER TO PURCHASE TICKETS!!

This Drawing will be perfect for your child who wants a grow with me bike and helmet. The bike is rated for children 7-14 and the helmet is also rated for ages 7-14.

Tickets will be $3/each, and only available on the Fourth of July.

This Drawing is great for making s’mores, this drawing can be used and comes with everything to make s’mores for your family, or better yet to keep them and eat them for yourself this Fourth of July during the fireworks show.

These tickets will be $5/each, and only available on the Fourth of July.
