The Burgess team enjoyed spending time with builders, industry partners, and peers while supporting an organization making a meaningful impact in our local community.

Sewer line issues are not usually the result of major failures. Most of the time, they come from small misses during installation.

Misaligned joints, debris left in the line, or minor damage are easy to overlook because the system is buried and out of sight. Those issues often do not show up until the home is in use, which is when they turn into callbacks, rework, and added cost.

A lot of these aren’t obvious during install. It’s things like slope being slightly off, connections not fully seated, or debris that was never cleared.

This is where issues tend to surface after close. In many cases, they can be identified earlier with a quick check before turnover.

Addressing it after the fact is always more disruptive and more expensive than confirming it up front. These are preventable issues that impact schedule, budget, and the homeowner experience.

With Energy Star 3.1 and the 2024 IECC rolling out across more markets, allowable leakage rates are getting stricter. What used to pass before may not anymore.

We had a great night connecting with builders and industry partners at our recent whiskey tasting event in San Antonio.

The theme of the night, Quality Without Compromise, is something that resonates across the construction industry. It often requires tough conversations and consistent accountability, but it is a goal that the best builders and trade partners are aiming for every day. At Burgess, we believe these conversations matter, and bringing people together across different parts of the process is how we'll all get better.

We wrapped up our mid-year leadership meeting last week where our corporate and division leaders dug into a range of topics around people, process, partners and technology.
