Not a 2011 guy? Still want a high-end double-stack 9mm that actually shoots like a custom 1911?

Wilson Combat’s eXperior Elite is purpose-built for a red dot, feeds 18 rounds from steel magazines that work, and has the trigger Wilson’s been the gold standard on for years. External extractor. Starburst grips. Commander-size package. MSRP $3,999 — and in a world where high-end 2011s are well north of four grand, that number starts to look pretty honest.

One of the most desirable SR 25’s are the ones that can be traced back the world’s most elite special operations unit - Delta Force. Back in the day , and I assume it’s still the case, KAC would trade/swap out SR 25’s in Unit service for upgraded new ones built to current standards. Those rifles were then offered for purchase by the Delta operators that were issued them in the Unit. The price was very reasonable- after a period of time when the guns were not purchased KAC sold them at a premium price - understandably due to what they are. This one recently changed hands for $12,000 - which seems like a lot of money ( it is) but given the pedigree I think it’s an appropriate price. It is an ‘A grade’ Unit gun which means it was issued but lightly used. These things pop up for sale occasionally but you have to be ‘in the loop’ to know what it is and what to look for. So what do you guys think - too much money or a reasonable amount?

Continuing the custom handgun theme of the last few posts here is a custom light rail 1911 built by my fellow Delta operator Brian Searcy of Pilot Mountain Fi****ms . Brian was a long time operator in Delta and committed himself to building custom fi****ms after his time in the military. I’ve referred several people to him and they have all been very pleased with his work. His prices are very reasonable and he has good turn around times. If you want one from him jump on it as he will become more popular as time goes on. If you contact him tell him I sent you !!

Anyone had a chance to shake out any of the Wilson Combat double stack 9mm pistols ? To me they are the number one option for those not running a 2011 type pistol. They aren’t cheap but they are very well made . Who has any trigger time on one and what are your thoughts?

Hey gang, you can now pre-order From Hartford to Vietnam.

Authored by long-time C**t collector and historian Alex Young, From Hartford to Vietnam relies in large part on curated photographs that have been sourced by the author from a number of private collections, including from the estate of Rob Roy, a central figure in this story as a high-level employee at C**t during the development of the AR-15 throughout the Vietnam War period.

This book is an Illustrated History of How C**t Brought the AR-15 Rifle to War is a journey through the development and production of the AR-15 by C**t’s Patent Fire Arms Manufacturing Company (later C**t Industries) and its ultimate fielding just in time for the growing Vietnam War. Though the AR-15 was the brainchild of Eugene Stoner and his team at the relatively small machine shop known as Armalite in Hollywood, California, it was American fi****ms icon C**t that purchased the rights to the rifle in 1959. From the small number of prototypes originally manufactured by Armalite (fewer than 30), C**t was faced with the seemingly impossible task of selling this new rifle concept to the US military and beyond.
