Hey Dealers! 👋

I’m Matt West, Wholesale Account Manager here at FishUSA. I’ve been lucky enough to help build out our wholesale division over the past couple of years, and it’s easily been one of the most rewarding parts of my career.

I’ve been in the outdoor retail world for about 14 years, but my connection to fishing goes back way further than that. I was the 12-year old kid riding my bike to the local tackle shop, spending every dollar I had on bait and gear. (Pretty sure that shop doubled as my grocery store too - solid snack selection!)

Fishing’s always been a big part of my life, and that hasn’t changed. When I’m not at FishUSA, I’m usually on the water or getting gear ready for my next trip. I spend a lot of time chasing offshore steelhead, salmon, and walleye, but honestly, I’m up for anything with gills. If it swims, it's on my bucket list!

On the business side, I’m here to listen first. I want to understand what’s working in your shop and help you build on it - whether that’s through product selection or helping smooth out some of the supply challenges you’ve dealt with in the past. My goal is simple: make working with FishUSA easy and worthwhile for you!

Good morning, tackle dealers!

From our home base in Erie, PA it looks like ice fishing season is just about wrapped up. Our buyers have been working hard tracking down key products every day, and it has us thinking about the categories that really matter heading into spring — especially here in the Northeast.

The spring trout opener in PA is a little over a month away and we’ve got inventory rolling in daily. Terminal tackle in particular has been getting replenished as fast as we can get it in the door.

With some of the changes in distribution across the country this year, now might be a good time to check your shelves on the everyday essentials — hooks, bobbers, sinkers, and other core items.
