We are only a few days until Senate Bill 25-003 goes into effect. Under this new law, in order to purchase a firearm on a 150+ page list you have to go through a number of steps. Let’s go through them:
1. Get a background check, on your dime.
2. Take the background check results to the sheriff and fill out an application to purchase a firearm.
3. Pay the sheriff a minimum of $52 which will go to the Department of Wildlife.
4. Receive a “Permission Slip” to take a 4- or 12-hour firearm safety course.
5. Find an instructor to give you this course. The cost of this course is determined by the instructor.
6. After you pass the course with a minimum score of 90% take the certificate (good for 5 years) and your sheriff-issued “Permission Slip” to the gun store to purchase your firearm.
7. Pay the gun store owner for the gun which will include another background check, for which you will have to pay.
8. Wait three days and go back to get your gun.
It is my opinion that the arrogant fools that require Coloradans to ask permission and take a class to exercise our God-given, and Constitutionally protected rights should be locked up in the very prisons they are trying to empty. They tell us that this will make us safer. Of course, the illegals and other criminals who illegally obtain and use fi****ms against us will have no clue about the classes they are supposed to take, much less the “Permission Slip” they are supposed to obtain.
Given the trend of these same fools, I anticipate next year they will pass a law that will require us to take a 14-hour class in order to exercise out First Amendment rights. I can only imagine how long the class will be for pastors and other clergy. The next year, we will have to take a 16-hour course before we can exercise out Fifth Amendment rights; of course, by that time we will already be in court and won’t have had time to take the class.
I have little tolerance for anyone who votes for these same fools who tromp on our rights just to show their power.
