Here’s a fun side project we did this past week at Hanson Sign Companies for training purposes.

This custom sign is a bold and vibrant representation of the Sicilian Triskelion, also known as the Trinacria—the iconic symbol of Sicily. Made from Polycarve with an overlay of gold Chemetal brushed aluminum, the sign features a beautifully stylized face surrounded by three bent legs radiating symmetrically from the center. Intricate details like the braided hair of wheat, green wings, and artichoke-like botanical elements add rich character and visual texture, all outlined in crisp red accents for a dramatic finish.

Crafted with precision, this sign merges cultural heritage with high-end craftsmanship—ideal for display in restaurants, cultural centers, or as a unique decorative piece.

We had something fun and unconventional through the shop last week for a local partner.

This mirror has been etched into its surface using a high-pressure stream of abrasive material—typically sand. This process removes a thin layer of the glass, leaving behind a frosted, matte finish in the desired areas while the rest of the mirror remains smooth and reflective.

The design can range from simple borders and geometric shapes to intricate logos, text, or artistic imagery. Because the sandblasting only affects the surface, the etched design appears softly translucent, creating a subtle contrast against the mirrored background. The result is a sophisticated, upscale look that works well for both decorative and branded environments—such as spa interiors, office lobbies, or custom residential bathrooms.

Sandblasted mirrors can also be backlit for added dimension or layered with color fills to enhance visibility and style.

We had a blast bringing this circular cloud channel letter sign to life for Chautauqua Christian Academy — and this one was extra special. One of our awesome team members (who’s also a proud parent at the school!) donated the sign featuring their logo. 💙✝️It’s always a joy to support our community — especially when we can combine faith, family, and custom design!
