Atlas Shingles in my opinion have come a very long way. We have used them a lot in the past they are a bigger course and like it says in post from Atlas “streaky roofs are a thing of the past”. We have done a lot of research on these shingles before we installed them on a customer’s home. We would 100% use Atlas shingles on all of customers homes.
They also have one of the best warranty programs we have seen for a home owner and the best part is you don’t have to use all of their products to get that warranty. Thank you Atlas roofing shingles for the new roofing products!

On this customers home! We were hired to completely strip existing shingles down to the roof sheathing. Due too the roof leaking around the dormers and not being able to stand up to any precipitation.

Here you will see how bad the existing shingles were as well as the existing roof sheathing. So we layered over the roof with 3/8”inch plywood. Then we installed Grace (Ice & Water) over the whole roof and dormers. We also installed a venting cedar breather mat for the roof to breath properly. We followed up with installing the drip edge and our aluminum for our valleys at the dormers as well as new flashing were the dormer walls meet the main roof. Then we followed up with our installation of CertiGrade ( #1 blue label) red cedar shingles (our courses were ran at 5 1/2” inches as 1/4” inch spacing between each shingle), We capped the ridge with 2 5- 1/2” inch red cedar boards (16’-0”inches). We also sealed around dormers with geo-seal which is one of the best products on the market for a roof sealant.
