Lindsay Rassoull, Heather Servais, Alex Brock, and Rachel Hatfield from the National Clearinghouse of Rehabilitation Training Materials and Disability Innovation Fund Technical Assistance teams presented at the Florida Association of People Supporting Employment conference yesterday. The session drew a full audience, and participants praised the content and delivery. Last week, the New Editions ACL Housing and Services Resource Center (HSRC) team attended the conference, “Addressing Homelessness Through a Public Lens.” This team pictured left to right: Jane Rath, Kelli Atkinson, Esther Wright, and Juliana Clifford and (not in the picture) Elizabeth Lee developed the 2.5 day agenda, secured speakers, and coordinated with participants in only six weeks. Despite that short timeline, informal feedback indicates it was a great success for the nearly150 participants.

The season ended this weekend and here are the final photos of employees enjoying baseball games. The Nationals closed their season with winning two games of the three game series against the Phillies. My Linh Bui (third from right) was at the game on Saturday night with her husband to the right of her and her two daughters. They are all dressed in NATS gear. The other photo is of Peter Lovegrove, his son Cy, and wife Maggie who attended an earlier game with the CUBS.

New Editions Senior Project Manager Anne Leopold just returned from the National Adult Protective Services Association conference in Albuquerque, NM. Anne made a presentation with the Louisiana Department of Health, Office of Behavioral Health staff, and a NAPSA consultant. The photo shows the presenters left to right. New Editions supported the USAging: Answers on Aging Annual Conference and Tradeshow is the Tampa, Florida this week. This is the country’s largest gathering of local leaders in aging well at home. Jane Rath and Brandon Cantrell attended and presented on ChORUS, our project that is is dedicated to promoting safe behaviors of older road users to include individuals age 65 and over who are drivers, passengers, pedestrians, motorcyclists, and bicyclists. New Editions supported the Advancing Housing Health and Social Care Partnership Conference this past week. We worked with more than five federal agencies to host nearly 150 state and community representatives in Rockville MD. Attendees discussed solutions and strategies to better provide services and supports for individuals who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, particularly individuals with disabilities and older adults. States were appreciative of the opportunity to come together and the full and well-crafted agenda. Many expressed how great these two days were for sharing and discussing innovations and getting the creative juices flowing. Jane Rath and Esther Wright worked hard to make this a meaningful and well received event.
