Congratulations to Our Newest Firefighters!

Falmouth Fire-Rescue proudly congratulates our newest probationary firefighters on their graduation from the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy’s Career Recruit Class in Bridgewater!

Our personnel completed hundreds of hours of intensive training, developing the physical, mental, and technical skills necessary to serve our community safely and effectively. Their training included fire suppression, search and rescue, ladder operations, water supply, pump operations, hazardous materials response, and much more.

We are proud to welcome our new firefighters as they begin their careers in service to the residents and visitors of Falmouth.

Unfortunately we have to once again postpone the open house due to the weather forecast. We hope to see everyone this spring and are crossing our fingers for better luck with the weather… third time’s a charm right?

It is with deep sadness that Falmouth Firefighters Local 1397 shares the passing of Katie DeGregorio Silvestri, beloved sister of our brother, Firefighter Domenic DeGregorio.

On behalf of the officers and members of Local 1397, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Domenic and the entire DeGregorio family during this incredibly difficult time. While no words can ease the pain of such a tremendous loss, we hope they find comfort in the love and support of their family, friends, and community.

Katie’s kindness, strength, and unwavering devotion to those she loved left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her legacy will continue to live on through the countless lives she touched.

We ask our members and the community to keep Domenic, his family, and all who loved Katie in your thoughts and prayers in the days and weeks ahead.

Services to honor Katie’s life will be held in Falmouth this week and the info can be found at https://www.katiescureals.com/

We encourage those who are able to join in honoring her memory and supporting the DeGregorio-Silvestri family.

In times like these, we are reminded that the fire service is more than a profession—we are a family. Local 1397 stands beside Domenic and the DeGregorio family, today and always.

Fraternally,

Falmouth Firefighters Local 1397
