The last thing standing between you and a million dollar business is you.

That's Stage 5, and it's the one nobody warns you about. Every other wall you've climbed by working harder. This one doesn't budge no matter how many hours you throw at it.

By now you've got crews, trucks, jobs coming in. But you're still the one making every call that matters. Pricing, hiring, the tricky customer, the big decision. You've handed over the lifting. You haven't handed over the thinking.

And here's what makes it so hard. You built this thing from nothing. Every good decision in it was yours. So when someone else makes the call, and they make it differently to how you would've, your gut screams that they've got it wrong.

Usually they haven't. It's just not your way.

That's the real wall. Not systems. Not money. Letting someone else be responsible for something you care about, and letting them do it their way.

To get past a million you stop managing crews and start managing people who manage crews. Which means the business runs on other people's judgement, not just yours. That feels like losing control. It's actually the only way you ever get any.

Start with one thing. Pick a decision you make every week. Hand it to someone and tell them straight: this is yours now, I'm not taking it back. Then leave it alone. Even when they do it different. Especially then.

Because a business that needs you to think for it isn't a business yet. It's a job you can't quit.

๐Ÿ‘‡ What's the one decision you know you should hand over but can't bring yourself to?

85% of people who ring you and don't get an answer never ring back. They just call the next mover on the list.

That's Stage 4. More trucks, more crew, more jobs. From the outside you've cracked it. So why are you more knackered than when you had one truck?

Because you're still the answer to everything. Phone rings, it's you. Quote needs pricing, it's you. Crew hits a snag, they ring you. Driver's crook at 6am, guess who's on the truck.

Picture a Saturday. You're on site sorting a stuff-up and your phone goes. Big move, ready to book. You can't answer it, you've got a fridge on your back halfway down a staircase. You ring back at four. They booked someone else at eleven.

Nothing to do with your price. You just couldn't be in two places at once. Now run that every weekend for a year.

And nobody talks about the real reason it's hard to let go. It feels good to be needed. When you're the bloke who fixes everything, you matter. So you hold on, and the business stays exactly as big as you can carry.

Try this. For one week, write down every single thing you do. Sunday night, mark each one: only I can do this, someone else could if I showed them, or nobody should be doing this at all.

Most owners get a shock. Half the list someone else could handle. And the stuff that actually grows the business, you barely touched.

Pick the biggest one in the middle group. Teach someone. They'll do it worse than you at first. Let them. That's the price of getting your life back.

You don't have a work ethic problem. You work so hard the business can't grow past you.

๐Ÿ‘‡ If you vanished for two weeks, what's the first thing that falls apart?

$1 in. $10 out. That's the kind of year Sherpa Removals just had ๐Ÿšš

When we first met the team at Sherpa, they were a respected name in their corner of Canberra, Australia. Great business, loyal customers, the kind of company people happily recommend to a mate. But most of the city still hadn't heard of them.

They knew there were more moves out there to win. They just needed a way to reach those people, and a system to actually handle the enquiries once they started coming in.

So we got to work and rolled out The Movers Growth System for them. The goal wasn't just more leads. It was making sure every single enquiry got looked after properly.

The result speaks for itself. A whole new customer base across Canberra, more enquiries than ever, and a 10x return on what they spent. In Tyson's words, every penny they spent with us paid them back in full.

Honestly though, Sherpa did the hard part. They run a genuinely great moving company. We just helped more of Canberra find them ๐Ÿ’ช
