LGBTQIA+ History Month is celebrated annually in October to honor the history, contributions, and resilience of the LGBTQIA+ community in America. Its establishment is widely credited to Rodney Wilson, the first openly gay high school teacher in Missouri, who proposed that October 1994 be recognized as "Le***an and Gay History Month."

Over time, the observance evolved to recognize and celebrate the history of more groups in the LGBTQIA+ community, raising awareness of their presence throughout history and progression toward equality in American society.

To celebrate, we’re sharing a word cloud put together by our Pride at Eide Bailly ERG members that captures what LGBTQIA+ History Month means to them.

Our September was filled with opportunities to celebrate traditions, spend time together, and strengthen connections across the firm!

📍 Mankato, MN – More than 30 employees and 40 family members gathered for the annual family picnic, enjoying an afternoon of connection, laughter, and quality time away from the office.

📍 Seattle, WA – Staff kicked off September by showing off their school pride during a back-to-school themed staff meeting, sporting favorite school colors, jerseys, sweatshirts, and alma mater apparel.

📍 India & Edmonds, WA – What started as an Edmonds office tradition has officially gone global. Thanks to Melissa Hardy's secondment in India, the beloved "On Wednesdays We Wear Pink" tradition made its way across the world.

📍 Dubuque, IA – Hawkeye and Cyclone fans came together for the annual tailgate celebration at Gary Dolphin's Bar, enjoying friendly rivalry, great conversation, and plenty of team spirit ahead of the Iowa versus Iowa State matchup.

📍 Spokane, WA – Team members enjoyed beautiful views and great company during the annual golf outing at Indian Canyon Golf Course, spending time together outside the office and strengthening team connections.

📍 Billings, MT – The Billings team celebrated the September deadline with an in-office happy hour, taking time to recognize the hard work, dedication, and teamwork that drive success throughout busy seasons.

📍 Seattle & Edmonds, WA – Staff showed their team spirit during a Seahawks-themed spirit day, proudly sporting blue ahead of game day.

October marks National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM), an annual celebration of the positive impact and contributions of people with disabilities in the American workforce.

This year’s theme, “Celebrating Value and Talent,” underscores the value people with disabilities bring to the workplace through their skill sets, talents, and diverse perspectives, which have shaped many workplace improvements benefiting all workers in America.

September was filled with opportunities to give back, support important causes, and make a meaningful impact in the communities where we live and work.

📍 Tulsa, OK – Our Tulsa office joined the annual Tulsa Area United Way Day of Caring by volunteering at Gathering Place, helping support a community destination focused on inclusion, sustainability, and opportunities for all.

📍 Spokane, WA – Our Spokane team hit the pavement for a great cause at the Boulevard Race! Proud to support this annual event benefiting the Community Cancer Fund and helping local patients and families affected by cancer.

📍 Abilene, TX – Small acts of kindness can create a big impact. During our United Way of Abilene's "Be the Good Week," our Texas team rallied around service, generosity, and community support, raising $11,703 and surpassing last year's total by 45%.

📍 Aberdeen, SD – Our Aberdeen office proudly supports the American Foundation for Su***de Prevention Out of the Darkness Walk each year, honoring Jared Williams while raising awareness and funds for su***de prevention and mental health support.

A great few days for golf. ⛳

Yesterday, we welcomed more than 80 clients, colleagues, and friends to Karsten Golf Club for our Golf with a Pro event with Eide Bailly Ambassadors Kate Smith-Stroh, Austin Eckroat, and Kaitlin Milligan-Braley.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and to Kate, Austin, and Kaitlin for making the day so memorable. From great conversations to a little healthy competition, it was a fantastic opportunity to connect on and off the course.

The event capped off an impressive week for Kate, who entered the day fresh off a T2 finish at The EPSON Tour Murphy USA El Dorado Shootout after spending the weekend in contention for the title.

We're proud to support these athletes and grateful to everyone who helped make the event a success.

We were proud to partner with ISG at this year's Sanford International, hosting clients and guests in the chalet overlooking the 18th green. From networking opportunities to time spent with clients, colleagues, and friends of the firm, it was a great week both on and off the course.
