Project Spotlight: Williston Ripple Car Wash 🚗

A vacant corner lot at 1st Avenue West and 27th Street West in Williston is being transformed into a new automatic Ripple Car Wash, putting an underutilized property to use and bringing a convenient new service to the area.

B&A is providing civil engineering services for the project, including site design, grading, stormwater management, utilities, and erosion and sediment control. From managing drainage and site access to coordinating the infrastructure needed to serve the property, our work is helping turn a vacant lot into a site ready to support a new business and its customers.

Last week, we joined UND students, faculty, staff and community members for a beam signing to celebrate another milestone in the construction of the new Engineering and Science Complex. Everyone had the opportunity to sign the steel beam before it's installed on the third floor, leaving their mark on a building that will become part of the UND campus for years to come.

As civil engineer for the project, B&A has been proud to play a role in bringing this project to life. Having our Grand Forks office right here on campus makes it even more rewarding to watch the progress through our own windows.

We are excited to see the finished space and the opportunities it will create for UND students and the future of STEM education. 🚧

We had a great week connecting with students at both the North Dakota State University and the University of North Dakota career expos! 🎓

It was a great opportunity to meet students, learn more about their interests and career goals, and share what it's like to work at B&A. Thanks to NDSU and UND for hosting and to everyone who stopped by our booth. We enjoyed meeting you!

Katie and Jenny attended the 2026 North Dakota League of Cities Annual Conference in Grand Forks last week, where B&A was proud to be a sponsor!

The conference was a great opportunity to connect with city leaders from across the state, explore more than 65 exhibits, and learn about topics including water and wastewater testing, the Missouri River, the North Dakota Department of Water Resources, Project WET, and the growth of Watford City.

These conversations and insights help us better understand the opportunities and challenges cities are facing and bring that knowledge back to better serve our municipal clients. Thanks to the North Dakota League of Cities for another great conference!

Project Spotlight: N 25th Street Reconstruction 🚧

A new street is helping open the door to a bigger transformation at UND.

Construction is underway on the N 25th Street Reconstruction project in Grand Forks, where B&A provided the project design and continues to support construction. The roadway is being realigned and rebuilt between University Avenue and Red Jarrett Way (2nd Avenue North) to support the redevelopment of the former University of North Dakota parking lot, now home to the Fieldhouse at Memorial Village and Albrecht Field.

The improvements go beyond the roadway. A narrower street and new lighting will create a safer, more accessible connection for students, residents, athletes, families, and fans.

The corridor is also designed with flexibility in mind. Removable bollards for the south half of the street will allow the street to be temporarily converted into an extension of the adjacent UND softball facility, creating space for food trucks, merchandise booths, and other spectator areas.

Completion is anticipated in October.

Last week, our President & CEO, Steve Burian, had the opportunity to speak at the UND College of Engineering & Mines Scholarship Award Ceremony. Each year, more than $1 million in scholarships support over 500 CEM students, made possible through the generosity of donors who invest in the next generation of engineers and professionals.

The annual ceremony brings scholarship recipients and donors together to celebrate these opportunities and recognize the impact of their support. We're proud to take part in an event that recognizes the hard work of UND students and the people who help make their education possible.

September is Hunger Action Month, a time to bring awareness to hunger and the work being done to make sure people have access to the food they need. We’re proud to support the Great Plains Food Bank and the impact they make across our region.
