When we started this journey our mission was to assist with downtown revitalization, but it has morphed into a mission of bringing people together in a sense if community. Last night we witnessed it in action when a young woman had a medical crisis only a few feet from the stage. The band called out for emergency responders, and then respectfully sat down on the drum riser. Our team sprung into action. Tony Hudson, an off duty paramedic standing nearby immediately began to provide medical aid He was quickly join by on duty paramedics and they were able to help Mia up on her feet to assist her to the ambulance and the crowd began to cheer. At the conclusion of the night, Slamabama invited anyone that wanted to pray for Mia's recovery to come to the stage where they all embraced and quietly prayed together. It was an amazing display of love and community. We have learned that Mia was released from the hospital and is doing well. We are grateful for her recovery and grateful to our patrons for the love and respect you displayed last night.
