Scouting America is hosting a National Day of Service on November 14, inviting Scouts, families, volunteers, and leaders to improve their communities through projects such as food drives, park and trail cleanups, and neighborly help. The goal is to recognize the value of service, bring more families into it, and encourage a commitment that lasts beyond that day.

To mark the event, Scouting America Outfitters is releasing the Impact365 National Day of Service Emblem, sold at Scout Shop locations or online. Scouts can wear it to show they took part. Those who keep serving can later earn an accompanying Device Pin, which ties the November 14 event to the Impact365 message that service should continue all year.

Most units have completed their fall recruiting events. Why not offer Scouts a second chance to join?

These events give families a convenient chance to learn more about Scouting, ask questions, meet leaders, and discover the opportunities available through their local unit.

Need ideas?

Follow-Up Invitations: Send personalized emails, phone calls, or digital invites to families who attended or expressed interest in the first event but didn't officially register.

Fun-Focused Pack/Troop Meetings: Promote the next meeting or a special drop-in event as an open, welcoming opportunity to join, with an engaging activity rather than a formal presentation.

Centralized Community Nights: Host drop-in tables or neighborhood rallies to maximize visibility where families already gather.

Digital Boosting: Use low-cost targeted social media events or local community calendar postings to expand your reach past the initial school night
