There is a new Scam being discovered in Clay County. An unknown individual is posing as "SGT Chris McCarthy" of the Clay County Sheriff's Office. This individual states he has urgent legal documents and requires a call back. The number being used is from a 620 area code. This is a reminder that though LE may attempt contact by phone on matters, no LE member will ask for money or require other payment options.
