"We have a great understanding after today of who we are, not just where we're going."
That was the comment from one of the leadership team members as we wrapped up Vision Building-Day 2 earlier this week with the team at Valley Process Technologies. And I couldn't think of a better way to describe what these first two days are all about.
Most leadership teams can tell you where they want to be in 10 years, but far fewer have really dug deep and done the hard work of defining who they are and what's most important to them along the way as they build a successful organization.

🌱 What are you crazy passionate about in your business?
🌱 What makes you different?
🌱 What kind of people belong and will be a values and culture fit?
🌱 How do you make decisions when things get hard?
Until those questions are answered, the vision is just a destination. Once they're answered, the vision becomes something your entire team can believe in, rally around and execute against.
