In the last couple of years, business has been hard.... inflation has hit alot of businesses hard and caused alot of difficult discussions about what is needed to move forward in this economy. I refuse to raise my prices to the level of making keepsakes hard to afford, but with the cost of material constantly increasing I simply can't meet the demand while keeping my prices affordable, and continuing to stay profitable. This business has allowed me to stay home and raise my babies for 12 years, and I couldn't be more thankful, but 6 months ago I made the decision to go back to work full-time. Then I wasn't sure what that meant for my home business, because I love making keepsakes and I couldn't imagine ending 12 years of work. But then I realized how much more time I had to spend with my family when I wasn't worried about how I was going to get all of my orders done. I could work my scheduled hours and then my kids got all of me when I was done for the day! We've been able to go places and do things that I never had time to do before, and it's taught me that my kids are in this amazing stage where they don't need me home with them every minute of every day like they used to, but they still need me. And I want to enjoy them while they're little.... so, for now at least, I'm no longer taking any orders for Mel's Simple Creations until further notice. Please do not mail your items to me without talking to me first (this has happened a couple times and puts me in a bind to try to do what I just don't have time to do). I can't tell you how much I appreciate each and every one of you for supporting my business, but it's time to put up that Closed sign.
Take care and God Bless
