All American Pet Resorts - Director of Franchise Training

The All American Pet Resorts (AAPR), Director of Training will create and execute a comprehensive training curriculum and programs in support of existing and new franchise owners and their staff incorporating the following disciplines:

Marketing
Sales
Customer Service
Service Delivery
Technology
Profitability
Corporate structure
Brand standards and culture

The Director of Training will develop training requirements and certifications for all levels of employment at the Royal Oak, Michigan resort and AAPR corporate staff to ensure AAPR franchise and company owned operations remain ‘State of the Art’ in the pet care industry. The Director of Training will create and deliver a focused New Resort Pre-Opening Onsite Training Program that will be delivered in concert with the Director of Operations and the training team. The Director of Training will report to the Executive Vice President and work closely with the Director of Operations.

The Director of Training will also work closely with other staff and field personnel with expertise in specific topics to assist in delivery of the training programs.
The Director will participate with the Director of Operations in the creation/implementation of Brand Standards and will be a key participant in the achievement of Flagship Status by the Royal Oak Resort. The Director will also be a key member of the field support team providing intensive training programs at the local market level. In conjunction with the Executive Vice President and Director of Operations, the Director of Training will oversee monthly communications with franchise owners providing valuable updates on all relevant topics. Responsibilities

People Leadership & Development

Provides training expertise for company and franchise operations ownership and staff both locally and in the field.
Coaches, develops and mentors the “Flagship” resort staff as part of their extended “training team.”
Provides additional coaching, team building, development, and communication by creating ongoing learning experiences
Oversees new and existing franchise resort certification requirements and compliance
Determines the need and delivery of developmental workshops addressing specific topics
Executes and conducts new store opening training
Ensure all programs are developed and implemented according to brand standards
Develops on-line training modules

Qualifications
Preferred degree in Business Management (or related subject)
5+ years’ experience in learning and development
5+ years’ management and leadership experience
3+ years’ experience in Franchise Operations, preferred
Experience with Learning Management Systems, (LMS)
Experience in development/implementation of training programs & processes
Experience in the development/implementation of training certification processes
Retail pet experience preferred but not required

All American Pet Resorts, Novi, MI – Director of Operations

A new position with an established franchise company serving 9 locations in 4 states. The Director of Operations will:

Work & manage the Royal Oak, Michigan All American Pet Resort;
become the authority on daily resort operations and management;
successfully execute best practices and SOP within the Royal Oak resort raising it to ‘Flagship’ status;
educate and lead current resort owners/managers toward uniform operations with improved financial results;
build a resort development team to launch new owners and locations.

The Director of Operations will evaluate every process and best practice among the existing resorts to determine their productive and profitable contribution to operations. This analysis will result in codified Standard Operating Procedures that will be instituted in, and improve the performance of, the currently successful Royal Oak resort.

This ‘Flagship’ operation will then be identified as the ‘Brand Standard’ and training center. Upon positive, demonstrated success, the Standard Operating Procedures will be introduced to existing resort owners with the goal of uniform ex*****on. All new unit operators will be fully trained and launched using only Standard Operating Procedures.



The review of current practices by the Director of Operations will include, but not be limited to, retail marketing strategies, internal sales processes, technical operations, staff qualifications and job descriptions, technology, product and supplier selections, physical resort recommendations and P&L performance. The Director of Operations will report to the Executive Vice President and work closely with long standing, successful franchise owners and their staff. The Director will work closely with the Royal Oak staff during the evolution to Flagship status as well as outside marketing and management experts.

The primary objectives for this position are:

Drive growth and improve unit economics of existing franchisees
Train and launch new franchisees timely and effectively
Provide consultative, value added communication and assistance to franchisees, directly and through support teams, that build strong working relationships with franchisees based on trust, transparency and accountability.

Job Requirements - A Highly Motivated, Dynamic Leader

Strong leadership, motivation, presentation and consultative communication skills with the ability to make a positive change.
Ability to perform business analysis and create a plan of action for improvement if necessary.
Demonstrated track record in meeting/exceeding budget and/or development goals.
Ability to travel up to 25%, as necessary.
5+ Years Franchise operations/business support experience.
5+ Years Prior training experience.
Pet retail experience preferred but not required.
Full Time.
