What is an administrative investigation? It’s a non-criminal, fact-finding inquiry into performance, behavior or policy violation concerns. HR or an outside investigator reviews relevant documentation and interviews management representative(s), the employee in question, and any other pertinent parties. Then the investigator provides a report of findings and recommendations for next steps.
