🖖 QCB QUESTION OF THE DAY: BEAM ME UP! 🚀

In honor of National Star Trek Day, we're taking a trip back to one of our favorite QCB adventures! 👀

Last Halloween, the QCB went full Star Trek, complete with a transporter and a holodeck that took visitors back in time to the age of dinosaurs! 🦖🚀

So here's today's question:

If you could use a Star Trek transporter to visit ANYWHERE in the universe—or ANY time in history—where would you go? 🌌⏳

🚀 Explore another planet
🦖 Travel back to the dinosaurs
🏛️ Visit a historical time period
🌴 Escape to your dream destination
👽 Go somewhere completely unknown!

Where are you beaming up to? 👇🖖

“We're out of milk.”
“Did you put it on the list?”
“...what list?” 🐝

A familiar problem just met a Farmington-made solution.

At Fresh Startup Friday, John Harris gave us an update on GroceryBee—a small household barcode scanner designed to make the grocery list practically build itself.

Finish something? Scan the barcode before you toss it. GroceryBee adds it to a shared household shopping list you can access from your phone.

No hunting for the phone.
No opening an app.
No trying to remember later.

Tap. Scan. Done. 🐝

That's exactly the kind of problem-solving we love seeing at the Enterprise Center: identify an everyday frustration, build a solution, test it—and keep moving the idea forward.

FARMINGTON MADE. Future. Made. Here. 🚀

Now THAT was a Fresh Startup Friday!

This morning the San Juan College Enterprise Center filled up with entrepreneurs, makers, innovators and community partners, and since it was National College Colors Day, plenty of college colors came along for the ride. 💜💛🎓

What did we find around the room?

🍞 Local food entrepreneurs (and some seriously good sourdough)
🐝 A locally developed idea making grocery lists a whole lot smarter
⚡ Technology, electrical and automation businesses
🛠️ Makers making things
🤝 And the conversations and connections that help turn ideas into opportunities

From sourdough to scanners, startups to established businesses, this morning was a pretty great snapshot of what's being MADE right here in Farmington and San Juan County, NM.

A big thank you to everyone who showed up, shared what you're working on, made a connection, or simply came curious.

📸 Take a look at a few Fresh Startup Friday moments. See someone you know? Tag them!

And if you missed this one, we've got you:

🚀 Fresh Startup Friday returns Friday, October 2 at 9 AM, followed by The Big Idea Makerspace at San Juan College Open House at 10 AM.

Farmington MADE.

🎳 It's US Bowling League Day! 🎳

Bowling leagues are all about teamwork, strategy, and having fun, just like building a business or strengthening a community.

Our question of the day for you is:
🎱 If you could create your own bowling league, what would your team name be?
🕺 If you are currently already in a league, what's your current team name?

Let's see who can come up with the most creative name as well as who is already apart of the bowling community! ⬇️

Good morning Folks!

⏰ LET'S SETTLE THIS ONCE AND FOR ALL! ⏰

As fall approaches, we're getting closer to that annual tradition of changing the clocks. 😴

If YOU got to decide, which would you keep year-round?

☀️ Daylight Saving Time — More daylight in the evening!

🌅 Standard Time — Brighter mornings!

💼 Bonus Question for our small-business community:
Which would be better for your business or workday—more evening daylight or brighter mornings?

👇 What's your vote: Permanent Daylight Saving Time or Permanent Standard Time?

And be honest… are you changing your clocks, or just letting your phone handle it? 😂

🥜 Happy National Trail Mix Day! 🥜

Every entrepreneur's journey is a little different. There are successes, challenges, unexpected detours, lessons learned, and plenty of moments that make the journey worthwhile.

So today we're asking:

🥾 If your entrepreneurial journey were a "trail mix," what's in it?

🥜 Nuts — the challenges that tested you?
🍫 Chocolate — the sweet victories along the way?
🍇 Dried fruit — the lessons and experiences you've collected?
🥨 Pretzels — the twists and turns you didn't see coming?
🌟 Something unexpected — the people, opportunities, or experiences that made all the difference?

What ingredients would make up YOUR entrepreneurial trail mix?

👇 Share your "recipe" with us!

Whether you're just starting your business or you've been on the trail for years, we'd love to hear what your journey has looked like.

💭 Happy National Thoughtful Day!

It's time for another QCB Question of the Day, and today we're taking a moment to appreciate the people who help us along the way.

Whether you're building a business, starting a new career, or simply navigating the day-to-day, we rarely get where we're going completely on our own.

🌟 Today's Question:

Who is someone who has made a positive impact on your business or professional journey—and what did they do that made a difference?

Maybe it was a mentor who offered great advice.
🤝 A colleague who always had your back.
💡 Someone who shared a resource or connection.
❤️ A friend or family member who believed in you.
🏢 Or someone in your community who helped you take the next step.

Give them a little shout-out today! 👇

And here's a bonus question for our business owners:

💡 What's one piece of thoughtful advice you would give to someone just starting their small-business journey?

You never know who might need to hear it.

Let's use today's question to recognize the people who have helped us—and maybe help someone else along the way.
