Congratulations to Kindred Kottage on the purchase of the coffee portion of Buttercup coffee!

We've been pretty quiet here this summer and there's a reason for that...because we've been BREWIN' something behind the scenes.

This was 100% not on my radar when we decided to build. I won't lie, it's been a stressful year. But I look back now and see that maybe some things were not supposed to work out, so that this could happen.

My heart has been with JoDee and her family with the sudden passing of Jeff. My family knows all too well the pain that comes with a loss like this. But I see woven in the threads some divine intervention that made it all work: a beautiful new building big enough to house a coffee shop, plumbing and electrical work that was already in the right places, a random conversation that started this whole thing, and decisions made before life took a drastic turn.

My opening will depend on the rate of progress on the interior. Zach and local contractors/businesses have been working tirelessly this summer and what is done so far is looking great!!

What you can expect when I do open is:
☕️ Fantastic coffee drinks (I will be bringing buttercup's favorites over)
🚗 Drink deliveries (with a minimum order)
🍵 Healthier drink options
💐 Beautiful fresh flowers
🪴 Houseplants
🎈 Balloons (I will be bringing favorites from The Shops)
🍞 Tastefully Simple on hand
🎁 Sympathy and other gift options that pair well with flowers

In order for this door to open though, one door needs to close. And unfortunately that is Pressed Flower Frames. I love creating these keepsakes, but my 24 hours looks very different than it did 4 years ago when I started. They take an enormous amount of time and my evenings are no longer open and at home. I have been working on finishing my current frames this summer and with the exception of new orders from these past couple weeks, all frames will be done by the end of September.

I am excited for a cozy and beautiful space for you all to come gather and sip on delicious drinks while enjoying beautiful flowers and plants. ❤️

Years in the Making: Faulkton Area Economic Development Board Brings New Housing Opportunity to Community

Quality housing is essential to attracting new families, supporting local businesses, retaining employees, and ensuring Faulkton continues to thrive for generations to come.

The Faulkton Area Economic Development Corporation has long recognized the need for additional housing and has spent years exploring practical, affordable solutions for rural living. While funding challenges have created obstacles along the way, we have remained committed to finding avenues that meet the needs of Faulkton. We are excited to announce a new opportunity with Designer Homes of Watertown to bring a brand-new home to the West Side Development.

The home is complete and ready for walk-throughs! This is a unique opportunity to tour a brand-new home and see how this house can meet your needs.

Because this is an existing completed home, this opportunity is time-sensitive. The home is available for purchase now, and it could be sold at any time. If you've been considering making Faulkton your home or building new and would like the opportunity to be part of this project, we encourage you to reach out to Eric Kaiser (board member) or Tiffany Paul (realtor) NOW for more information or to schedule a walk-through.

We “Believe in Possible,” and we also believe in the power of the domino effect. A strong response to this home would demonstrate that there is demand for quality housing in our community and give us the confidence to pursue similar opportunities in the future. Every successful project helps build momentum for the next one.

Submitted by FAEDC Board – JoDee Bryant, Jesse Warren, Tyler Cunningham, Amber Martinmaas, Joe Epp, Lena Huss, Gloria Bode, Eric Kaiser, Dan Martin and Shauna Remily.
