Ok, maybe I'm a little more excited than I should be - but my article, Top 10 Predictors of Federal Employee Job Satisfaction has been featured in International Public Management Association for Human Resources (IPMA-HR)'s HR News Magazine!

The September issue's article is the first in a two-part article series that examines U.S. Office of Personnel Management's 2019 and 2021 data, respectively, to predict Federal Employee job satisfaction pre- and post- pandemic.

Ok, more pay = better. I got it. But federal employees still make about 75% of what their private sector counterparts do.

On the flip side, of all the predictors of fed job satisfaction, pay ranks somewhere down around #8, after many extrinsic and intrinsic job factors, such as personal accomplishment and work-life balance and before work process empowerment.

My question to our federal workforce is, does a 4.6% pay raise make you any more satisfied in your job?

President Joe Biden has formally announced his plans to give civilian federal employees a pay raise next year, starting on Jan. 1, 2023.
