As a Driver (CDL Class A), the candidate should have a background in fast-paced environments including experience with operating any combination of vehicles with a gross combination weight rating (GVWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, provided the towed vehicle is heavier than 10,000 pounds. Individuals must be able to work in a self-motivated manner.

Continental U.S.

This is a key operational position, reporting to the Driver Manager with the opportunity to advance and grow with TDRL Logistics. The ideal candidate will be capable of both dry van and re**er trailer transport.

The focus is to prepare, execute, and follow up with all parties to ensure 24/7 service. The ideal candidate will meet all service requirements while adhering to the policies and procedures of TDRL Logistics. Training pay is offered and rate per mile is determined by experience.

The candidate must possess strong relationship skills and always maintain a positive solution-based attitude. The ideal candidate will provide a safe, secure, legal environment with the proper tools and systems to maximize complete job satisfaction for employees and support company growth and profitability.


Responsibilities – Driver:

Perform safety checks of brakes, steering column, lights and mirrors prior to each leg of journey to ensure road readiness
Follow and maintain loading protocols, using chains and binders to secure cargo and re-checking their stability throughout trips
Inspect trailers before and after loading, paying attention to status of air lines and jack positions and adjusting them as necessary
Visit weigh stations before and after packing to ensure that loads meet state safety regulations, making alterations to loads when required by law
Contribute to company data by honestly recording times of delivery and hours worked
Adhere to traffic safety regulations at all times, exercise caution in treacherous circumstances and report unsafe vehicle or road conditions to supervisors and highway authorities
Use GPS to stay informed of route information, and communicate with supervisors and colleagues using CB radio and cab computer
Drive long-haul runs between states 40–60 hours a week
Document hours accurately
Perform regular safety inspections of equipment in keeping with company SOPs and OSHA standards
Communicate professionally with warehouses, including notifying loaders by phone if you will be late for a scheduled drop-off or pickup
Follow a schedule of weekly recurring local runs between customers
Confirm and secure product after loading
Clean/Sweep trailer after unloading


Driver Requirements & Skills 1

High school diploma or GED
Current Class A CDL, with a clean driving record for at least 4 years
Four years of experience working as a CDL Class A driver with no legal or safety incidents on record
Drug screening and background check pass
Availability on weekends and holidays
Drive long-haul runs between states 40–60 hours a week
Document hours accurately
Perform regular safety inspections of equipment in keeping with company SOPs and OSHA standards
Enthusiasm for our products and desire to deliver them safely and on time
Desire to work independently and proactively to support the overall team Dispatch Operations goals.
Strong communication skills and the ability to develop positive relationships with the driver fleet.
Professional image and communication skills.
Ability to adapt to changing customer needs and driver availability.
Ability to manage multiple factors in a high stress environment.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, with the understanding that various times demand more hours.
Ability to attend Web Conference meetings (i.e., Zoom, Go To Meeting, Google Teams, Webex)


Preferred:

Current TWIC Card
Completion of professional truck driving educational program
Ability to lift 75 pounds
Travel Required: 90%


Environment and Physical Requirements:

Most of the work week will be in the office. Duties include administrative functions using the phone, computer and communicating with people. This job will require occasional lifting of up to 75 pounds. Must be able to sit a minimum of 8 hours per day and must be able to stand and climb stairs as required.
