California family and friends. Be safe in this weather! I know this is a new experience for California.
If you end up in a power outage, you should know that there will not be any attempts to do repair to wires until the wind has died down below 30 miles an hour. That is the safety limit on bucket trucks. Then they will prioritize based on needs of the community. This includes restoring power to many people as quickly as possible. If you live remote or in an area lots of trees you may be delayed.
Also, if downed trees took out the power don’t go romaning around being nosey. There may be live wires out there. The utility company will exercise caution to keep everyone safe. That is more important thank speed.
The water system runs on electricity so water my be interrupted.
You don’t typically think of the electric company as having first responders, but they are going to be who will be first in to restore, normalcy in a lot of areas.
