Wilderness Inspired Apparel and Goods
-Born in the Appalachian Mountains-

Welcome to Lost Appalachia Trading Company! We were born in the Appalachian Mountains out of a desire to share quality goods that capture a bit of the spirit, natural beauty and the history of the mountains we call home. Lost Appalachia is a nod to things past; wildlife no longer found here like the wolf of our logo, forgo

tten towns reclaimed by the forest, and cultures that have faded into the hills. Our home base is West Virginia, but we consider the entirety of the Appalachian Mountains our back yard. So while we may seem a little biased toward our Wild and Wonderful state, our brand aims to be a reflection of the entire Appalachian region. Whenever we can, we source products within the Appalachias. When we have to look elsewhere, it's because we've found a quality product we're eager to share. Everything that leaves our shop is something we'd own ourselves. We invite you to be part of our adventure as we grow. So until next time...

🐾Yesterday, we said a very hard goodbye to Reagan, our very much loved part-time shop pup. So many of you met him over the years while he was hanging out at the store, and just as many of you were kind enough to ask about him when he was back home with his family, thank you all for always checking on him.

He brought so much personality and quirk through our doors, and the shop always feels a little lonelier without him around.

P.S. One last apology to anyone he moseyed in on in the dressing room.

🥶 It’s cold out there, but winters in the gorge are peaceful and beautiful. Bundle up and enjoy getting to see parts of the landscape that are normally hiding below all the trees. 🌲

Closed Fri. 1/30

At Lost Appalachia, we have always tried to be a place of welcome and safety. A space where people with different beliefs can walk through the same door and feel respected, seen, and free from judgment.

Recent events have made us feel the need to be clearer about what that commitment means.

We are closing our doors for the day (Jan. 30) in solidarity with marginalized communities and in quiet protest of overreaching authority and violence perpetuated by ICE. We recognize that not every small business has the flexibility to do this, and we do not take for granted that we are able to.

This is not about choosing conflict over connection or shutting down conversation. It is about being clear about the values that guide our space. It is about taking a pause. We are asking you to take a moment to ask yourself what kind of community, country, and world you want to live in and help shape.

At Lost Appalachia, we believe that begins with empathy, kindness, and basic human decency.

Wherever you land, we hope you will take a moment today to reflect, pray, meditate, or simply sit with that question and with care for one another.
