🇺🇸 Fourth of July Announcement 🇺🇸

We will be open regular hours on the 4th if you have an Independence Day clean-up on your to-do list.

A couple of reminders:
🚿 Soak used fireworks in water for at least 15 minutes before disposal.
🗑️ Once they're thoroughly soaked, place them in the trash only. Fireworks are not compostable or recyclable.

Please dispose of fireworks safely with us and keep our homes and community safe over this holiday weekend.

You know what's cooler than our two-legged team members shooing seagulls? Getting help from Petra, a seasonal feathered coworker from Sky Patrol Bird Services LLC 🦅

You may have seen Petra and her human, Scotty Earthling, this spring clearing the RDS skies with humane falconry-based seagull abatement. Instead of loud noises or harmful deterrents, trained birds of prey naturally remind local gulls that RDS isn't a comfy place to settle down.

What's the point?
Less seagulls on site means less mess, safer conditions for employees and visitors, and less stress on wildlife.

Petra is on summer vacation now as the gulls naturally head towards the bay in the summer months but we look forward to the future when our air support is back. Let's face it, seeing this old-meets-new solution and falcons in action is pretty epic.

🌎 Every day is at Recycling & Disposal Services, Inc. 🌍

In 2025, we recycled +12,500 tons (~25,436,000 lbs) of material.

That comes from both our mixed waste recycling program, where we sort out wood, metal, and cardboard, and source-separated recycling, where customers do the sorting upfront for a more cost-effective solution!

Both matter, both work, and both are possible because of our staff and customers helping sort and recycle!

For 2026, we’re already on track to exceed those numbers.

Today we celebrate but the real impact isn’t one day a year, it’s built load by load, decision by decision. Thank you for contributing to better recycling choices and responsible solid waste management.
