July 1st was a big day for District 7! We celebrated the promotion of Jeff Watson to Fire Captain. Jeff served as our Training Captain for the past two years, and now returns to the line as a Captain at Station 43. We also officially resumed 24/7 staffing at Station 41 in downtown Ferndale. We’re excited for these steps towards faster response times and increased staffing to better serve our citizens!

The magnificent seven! This class is special not only because the number of recruits is tied for the most in department history, but also because there are two second-generation District 7 firefighters among them. Now that’s something to celebrate! The seven of them combined already have 38 years of diverse fire service experience, including structural, wildland and industrial, and will now embark on a rigorous two-month day academy before joining their respective shifts. Best of luck!
