❤️ A BEAUTIFUL DAY OF SERVICE, CONNECTION & COMMUNITY! 🌺🌴

What began as an idea to bring a little joy to our seniors became something much greater — a celebration of life, laughter, fellowship and love.

The First Senior Citizens Hawaiian Luau was truly a special occasion! Sponsored by The Francis Watson Education Foundation in partnership with The Fending House, the evening reminded us of something we believe deeply:

Our seniors deserve to be SEEN.
They deserve to be CELEBRATED.
They deserve to feel CONNECTED.
And most importantly, they deserve to know they are LOVED. ❤️

From the music and dancing to the food, games, Bingo, tropical attire, conversations and plenty of laughter, the smiles told the story better than words ever could. 🌺🎶

These photos and videos capture just a few of the beautiful moments from an event that touched both those being served and those who came to serve.

That is the power of community.

That is the power of human connection.

And that is why initiatives such as Adopt a Senior matter. A conversation, a visit, a laugh or simply spending time with someone can help combat loneliness and remind our seniors that they remain an important and valued part of our community.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to The Francis Watson Education Foundation for sponsoring this event, to The Fending House Volunteer team, other volunteers and supporters, and especially to the wonderful residents for opening their doors and hearts to us.

💙 Meet Dr. Frances Hester

Born and raised in Sicily Island, Louisiana, Dr. Frances Hester has dedicated more than 35 years to transforming lives through education, leadership, mental health advocacy, and community service.

As an accomplished educator, consultant, speaker, and entrepreneur, Dr. Hester has devoted her career to serving students (PreK–16), adult learners, families, and senior citizens. Her expertise has taken her across the country, where she has trained educators, parents, school systems, and organizations while inspiring others through innovative leadership and practical solutions.

Dr. Hester is the author of three published books and continues to use her voice to educate, empower, and inspire others.

Her passion for helping people led her to establish The Fending House, a Home and Community-Based Services provider proudly serving Region 6 from its office at:
