Work continues to advance at The Blake at Somerset in Baltimore, Maryland, where SEH is completing the full sitework package for our client, DAVIS Construction.

Following the completion of major earthwork, underground utilities, and stormwater management operations, SEH crews are now focused on several of the next stages of site development. Current operations include concrete apron installation, public road restoration, and on-site base paving as we continue preparing the site for the phases ahead.

Once complete, The Blake at Somerset will bring 190 new apartment homes to Baltimore along with a Lidl grocery store and two levels of structured parking. The residential community will feature a variety of amenities, including a club room, fitness center, business center, and rooftop terrace.

It’s rewarding to see the site continue to evolve as more permanent features of the development begin to take shape. Our crews remain hard at work moving The Blake at Somerset closer to the finish line.

Project Update | Crested View – Ellicott City, MD

Another major stage of work is taking shape at Crested View in historic Ellicott City, Maryland, where SEH continues to perform the full sitework package for our client, Taylor Property Group.

Situated within an 85-acre master-planned community, Crested View will feature 173 one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartment units, along with 79 Beazer Homes townhomes. The apartment portion of the community will also include an outdoor courtyard, pool, and rooftop amenities, creating a thoughtfully planned residential community in the heart of Ellicott City.

SEH’s comprehensive scope includes sediment control, stream crossing, clearing, mass grading, segmental and cast-in-place retaining walls, wet and dry utilities, underground stormwater management vaults, bioretention ponds, permeable pavers, site concrete, and paving.

Crews have recently completed the remaining base paving throughout Phase 1, marking another important milestone for the project. With Phase 2 utility work now complete, our attention has shifted to preparing the roadways for soil-cement treatment, followed by the completion of Phase 2 base paving.

As work continues to advance into the next stage of construction, our crews remain focused on keeping each portion of the site moving forward efficiently. We’re proud of the progress at Crested View and look forward to watching this 85-acre community continue to take shape.

🚧 August is National Traffic Awareness Month

For many of our crews, the jobsite doesn’t end at the edge of the roadway. Every day, construction workers across the country work just feet away from moving traffic—and their safety depends on all of us.

When approaching a construction zone, slow down, stay alert, eliminate distractions, and be prepared for changing traffic patterns. Obey posted signs and flaggers, leave extra space between vehicles, and never speed through an active work zone.

And when you see construction vehicles, crews, or roadside operations, remember:

🚗 Slow Down. Reduced speeds give you more time to react.

🚧 Move Over. Give roadside workers and equipment as much space as safely possible.

📵 Stay Focused. Put the phone down and keep your attention on the road.

👷 Share the Road. Behind every hard hat is someone who deserves to make it home safely.

Our crews are doing their part to work safely. We ask everyone traveling through our jobsites to do theirs.

Slow down. Stay alert. Give them room to work.

Southfields Sports Park Complex Continues to Take Shape in Elkton, MD!

Exciting progress continues at the Southfields Sports Park Complex in Elkton, Maryland, where SEH is serving as the design-build contractor for our client, Sideline Properties. This expansive 50-acre development is being transformed into a premier sports and recreation destination featuring more than 500,000 square feet of artificial turf fields and a 36,000-square-foot indoor athletic facility that will include a restaurant, bar, and indoor pickleball courts.

SEH crews recently reached several major milestones in Phase 1, completing the submerged gravel wetlands, along with final surface paving and striping of the 275,000-square-foot parking lot.

In Phase 2, we are nearing completion of the four artificial turf fields. The turf has been installed, and crews are now focused on completing the detailed field line work and fencing. Light poles have also been installed, conduit work is wrapping up, and preparations are underway for the concrete sidewalks.

In the coming weeks, another major component of the complex will begin taking shape as SEH starts construction on the indoor facility positioned between the turf fields, bringing the project one step closer to its vision as a complete sports, dining, and recreation destination.

From major site infrastructure and athletic fields to vertical construction, Southfields continues to showcase SEH’s extensive design-build capabilities. We’re proud of the progress our teams have made and look forward to reaching the next major milestones on this impressive project.

🚧 Project Update: Milestone Crossing! 🚧

SEH crews continue to make progress at Milestone Crossing in Jessup, Maryland, where we are completing the full site work package for our client CBG Building Company.

Once complete, Milestone Crossing will feature two four-story apartment buildings totaling 104 studio, one-bedroom, and one-bedroom + den units, along with 79 three-bedroom townhomes with private garages. Future residents will also enjoy a variety of amenities, including a centrally located clubhouse, fitness center, pool, dog wash, and outdoor kitchen.

With much of the major site work behind us, crews are currently focused on constructing the bioretention areas and placing topsoil throughout the site. From there, we will replace curb and gutter and complete surface paving, bringing SEH’s work in the townhome section of Milestone Crossing to completion.

It’s rewarding to see this community continue to take shape, and we’re proud of the work our crews have put in from the early stages of clearing and mass grading through these final phases of site development.

🚧 Progress underway at Miles Coppola! 🚧

Just a few weeks after breaking ground, SEH crews are making great progress on the Miles Coppola project in Clarksburg, Maryland, for our client, Dream Finders Homes.

Located on a 97-acre tract along Clarksburg Road, this future community will feature 83 new residential homes while incorporating thoughtfully designed tree conservation areas to preserve the natural character of the site.

Since mobilizing, our crews have:
• Completed all clearing operations
• Installed Phase 1 sediment control
• Begun preparing for mass grading
• Readied the site for upcoming utility installation

As the project’s turnkey site contractor, SEH’s scope of work includes clearing, sediment control, mass grading, retaining walls, rock blasting, underground utilities, concrete, paving, state highway road improvements, fine grading, and final surface paving.

We’re excited to continue building momentum on this project and look forward to bringing this new Dream Finders Homes community to life. Stay tuned as construction progresses in the weeks ahead!

🚧 Great things are taking shape at Seasons at Fredrock! 🚧

SEH continues to make excellent progress at Seasons at Fredrock in North East, Maryland, where we’re proud to be working for our client, Landmark Continental.

In just a few short months, SEH crews have completed and turned over the first 22 lots to DR Horton, keeping this exciting new community moving forward. Once complete, Seasons at Fredrock will feature 86 single-family homes, providing a thoughtfully planned neighborhood in Cecil County with convenient access to I-95, Route 40, and Route 272.

Our work to date has included:
• Mass grading
• Wet and dry utility installation
• Public road improvements
• Box culvert installation
• Concrete work
• Paving
• Conversion of two submerged gravel wetlands located within a previous phase

From the first clearing operations to delivering build-ready lots, it’s rewarding to see this project continue to take shape. We appreciate the opportunity to partner with Landmark Continental and look forward to reaching the next milestones as work progresses.

At SEH, safety is more than a policy—it’s a mindset that every employee brings to the job, every single day. From pre-task planning and daily toolbox talks to proper PPE and looking out for one another, every member of our team plays a role in creating a safer jobsite. Whether we’re clearing land, installing utilities, grading, paving, or working alongside active roadways, every task begins with one priority: making sure everyone returns home safely at the end of the day.
